Quality & Reliability Manager
Description
At UVeye, we’re on a mission to redefine vehicle safety and reliability on a global scale. Founded in 2016, we pioneered the world’s first fully automated suite of AI-powered vehicle inspection systems, combining computer vision, machine learning, and generative AI.
With over $380M in funding and strategic partnerships with Toyota, Amazon, General Motors, JLR, Volvo, and Hertz, our technology is deployed across manufacturing plants, dealerships, wholesale auctions, fleets, and seaports worldwide. Named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2026, our 270+ global employees are solutions-oriented, accountable, and driven by one shared goal: making roads safer for everyone.
UVeye is seeking an experienced Quality & Reliability Manager to own product quality and field reliability across the full product lifecycle. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this leader will set the quality standard for suppliers, contract manufacturers, in-house assembly, installations and the installed base. This is a hands-on role. You will build UVeye’s Q&R function from its first formal plan into a company-wide standard, working closely with Supply Chain & Manufacturing, NPI & Engineering, HW, Delivery & Support and Performance & Excellence.
UVeye is moving into its next phase of scale: a broader contract manufacturing base, a growing installed base across our Dealership, Rental, Fleet and OEM business units, and customers with demanding uptime commitments. Quality and reliability must be designed in, measured and owned end to end. This role makes that happen.
A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact:
- Own the Q&R plan and the Quality Management System, and drive them across all functions and sites.
- Set quality requirements, audits and scorecards for contract manufacturers and lead quarterly quality reviews.
- Lead supplier qualification and certification, including second sources for single-source and critical components.
- Drive 8D, root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions with CMs and sub-vendors through closure.
- Define incoming inspection, FAI and acceptance criteria for complete configurations.
- Own quality gates in NPI, from DVT through production start and ramp-up, including PFMEA and control plans.
- Ensure in-house assembly meets the same quality standard as contract manufacturing.
- Own reliability metrics for the installed base: failure rates, MTBF, repeat failures and RMA root cause.
- Turn field service and system health data into prioritized corrective actions for Engineering and HW.
- Define the pre-dispatch check and installation quality standard together with Delivery & Support.
- Support customer SLA commitments, including uptime and collision SLA requirements.
- Publish a weekly Q&R dashboard from ERP, PLM and Salesforce data and report status to the COO.
- Serve as the escalation point for critical quality and reliability issues.
- Act personally on the line, at suppliers and at customer sites to find and close root causes.
- Supplier quality: qualification, audits, certification, incoming inspection and supplier corrective actions.
- Manufacturing quality: contract manufacturing and in-house assembly, FAI, process controls and yield.
- NPI quality: design reviews, DFMEA and PFMEA participation, quality gates, design transfer and ramp-up readiness.
- Field reliability: installed-base failure analysis, RMA, MTBF, reliability growth and predictive maintenance inputs.
- Quality system: QMS, certifications, document control, quality metrics and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 10+ years in quality and reliability for complex electro-mechanical hardware with embedded electronics, optics and software, including 5+ years owning quality across suppliers, production and the field.
- Proven experience leading quality with Tier 1 EMS contract manufacturers and a multi-site supply base.
- Track record taking new products through NPI into volume production, including FAI, PFMEA, control plans and ramp-up.
- Hands-on supplier quality experience: audits, qualification, second-source certification and 8D closure.
- Field reliability experience with an installed base: failure analysis, RMA root cause, MTBF and warranty data.
- Experience building or running a QMS to ISO 9001.
- Strong data skills; able to build dashboards from ERP, PLM and CRM data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to influence across functions and countries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; ASQ CRE, CQE or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 25-30%, including international travel.
Benefits we offer:
- Competitive Medical, Dental, Vision.
