Hertz to Deploy UVeye’s AI Inspection Systems at Major U.S. Airports
How Do You Keep Half a Million Vehicles Road-Ready?
If you’re running a global rental operation like Hertz, the answer isn’t easy. With cars constantly cycling through pickups and returns—especially at major airports—making sure each one is ready to go requires a process that’s fast, accurate, and consistent.
That’s why Hertz is partnering with UVeye to upgrade the way it checks vehicles between rentals. Instead of relying entirely on manual inspections, Hertz is rolling out UVeye’s drive-through AI systems at airport locations across the country—starting with Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International.
“With millions of customers and over 100 years of service around the world, we’re continually focused on transforming every aspect of our company and that includes how we maintain our vehicles. We are excited to partner with UVeye to bring efficiency and greater accuracy to our maintenance process, so we can focus on our vehicles being ready when and where our customers want them.” – Mike Moore, EVP Technical Operations at Hertz
Rental teams often have a short window to inspect a vehicle, get it cleaned, and turn it around for the next driver. That pressure leaves room for things to get missed—whether it’s a worn-out tire, a scrape under the bumper, or a small crack in the glass.
Even with experienced staff, visual checks are subjective. Conditions vary, and so does the outcome.
UVeye’s systems use high-res cameras and AI to scan the full vehicle—undercarriage, tires, and exterior—while it drives through. The scan only takes a few seconds, but it can catch issues that might otherwise be missed.

For Hertz, this means better visibility into vehicle condition, less time spent on manual walkarounds, and more reliable data to act on.
For most customers, the process won’t look different—but it will feel better. UVeye helps Hertz speed up the return and pickup experience while improving trust and transparency. Instead of relying on memory or notes, inspections are backed by clear visuals and data. That means fewer surprises and more confidence on both sides of the counter.
“Hertz is setting a new standard for vehicle maintenance and fleet management in the rental industry, and we’re thrilled to partner with them. Our AI-driven inspection systems complement manual checks with consistent, data-backed assessments completed in seconds.”
– Amir Hever, CEO and Co-Founder of UVeye
The partnership is part of Hertz’s broader effort to modernize how it manages its fleet. More locations will be equipped with UVeye systems throughout the year, making inspections faster and smarter wherever customers travel.
At UVeye, we’re excited to help make that happen—and proud to support a more reliable future for rentals, one inspection at a time.
